Malvern East

Pretty, spacious Malvern has the charm to burn. Glenferrie Road bustles with cafes, delis, bookstores, and boutiques, while Malvern Central boasts a gleaming David Jones. You can go for a bike ride around Central Park, a picnic in the Malvern Urban Forest or a swim at the Harold Holt Swim Centre. In the evenings, you can dine out or spend an evening at the Malvern Theatre Company.

Transport is excellent in Malvern, including Malvern Train Station and three tram routes (and a tram depot adding atmosphere to the middle of Glenferrie Road). Schools, both public and private, are relatively plentiful for this family-friendly area.

There’s no denying that Malvern is a bit of a looker, with leafy streets, parks, and regal buildings. You’ll find impressive mansions here, alongside immaculate Edwardians and Victorians with handsome gardens and some charming Art Deco examples.

You’ll also see an interesting range of spacious and well-maintained mid- to late-20th century apartments as well as ultra-modern new developments.

Lush and prestigious, Malvern is an expansive suburb with excellent schools and transport, large period homes and slick new apartments. Facilities like the swim centre, library, and parks make it an ideal place for families, but the thriving cafe lifestyle of Glenferrie Road appeals to the younger independent crowd too.
